Let’s go to the movies! This year’s World Film Festival in Montreal (Aug. 26 – Sept. 6) offers films from Algeria, Dubai, Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon and Morocco (details below).
NCCAR is organizing a movie and lunch this Saturday Aug. 28th (10 am) with our Montreal friends and members, to watch the Egyptian movie “An Ideal Family” and discuss it afterwards. It’s a great opportunity for us to catch up with everyone as well!
| “Educate and inform Canadians to enhance understanding and relationships between the people of Canada and the people of the Arab World.” |
Please LET US KNOW that you’re coming so we can make the proper reservations.
The events of An Ideal Family tell the story of an Egyptian family that consists of 8 members and that is short-listed to win the “Ideal Family” prize on a television show. Through the contest for the prize, the family members unveil themselves to the audience – and to each other – within a family-oriented production that conveys the attributes of Egyptian families of the modern day. An Ideal Family falls under the family comedy genre. See press release.
