| WHO
WE ARE AND WHAT WE STAND FOR
NCCAR is composed of a diverse membership
with Canadians of English, French, Arab, Christian, Muslim and Jewish
backgrounds amongst others.
Together, we advocate for principles that
Canadians cherish:
- Truth, justice, freedom, democracy, equality
and security for all people as found in international law.
- Canadian public policies based on the rule
of law.
- The importance of multilateralism as the
principle means of solving the world's challenges.
NCCAR is an example of how Canadians of diverse
backgrounds are collaborating to uphold these principles and achieve
better ties on a people-to-people level, regardless of our ethnic
or faith background.
Given the current political and media realities
and trends, this is a critical advantage that we leverage in our
work.
WHAT
WE DO
NCCAR:
- builds ties between Canadians
and the people of the Arab world in order to develop
stronger relations and cooperation, as well as raise an appreciation
of their common values.
- has a positive, enduring impact on Canadians'
understanding of people from the Arab world, on Canadian policies,
positions and practices
- is a reliable source of information, insights
and ideas for government, parliamentarians, decision-makers, media,
business, academics and Canadians.
- has a near 25-year record of impact and
relationships in Ottawa, with offices steps away from Parliament
Hill affording easy and regular access to parliamentarians and
government officials.
- has strong communications capabilities:
- issues regular statements and press releases
- conducts media interviews via print,
radio and TV
- media coverage monitoring and analyses
- regular updates to members through newsletters,
website, calls and in-person contacts
- provides Canadians with opportunities
to gain valuable experience, knowledge and leadership skills,
equipping them to become future, influential Canadian leaders.
