The network seeks to
improve awareness amongst Arab-Canadians of services available to them,
of organizations that provide these services, and to increase
Arab-Canadian participation in these programs.
The project will
also enable community organizations to build links, strengthen their
bases, facilitate the flow of information amongst them and enhance their
capabilities for better representation and greater visibility of
Arab-Canadians within Ontario.
Another goal of
this project is to help Arab-Canadian communities build and strengthen
bridges amongst their constitutive elements, regardless of their
religious, political or social affiliation.
Objective
The Ontario Arab
Communities Project is a Non-Political initiative that focuses on the
capacity building of Arab-Canadian Organizations within the Ontario
Community.
The
project aims to improve communication and understanding among
organizations by facilitating discussion on goals, objectives, and
direction. It will further empower them, and help them be more efficient
by increasing their awareness of services and resources available within
their communities. The project will also look to attract and
recruit more volunteers within the community groups.
Activities
NCCAR
will inform organizations about this new project, obtain their feedback
and gather their support. It will organize regional meetings to
develop a framework for the network's structure, coordination and
communication of the programs and services.
