Etadal Etaiwi
Saudi Plastic Artist 

Ms. Etadal Abdullah Etaiwi has a Bachelors degree in Social Science from King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah and a Masters degree in Psychology from Oum Al-Qora University in Makkah Al Mukarramah.  She is presently completing her PhD in Psychology.

Ms. Etaiwi is a writer and member of the Literary Club in Jeddah since 1975.  She is a Plastic Artist Painter, a member of the Art and Culture Association since 1997 and a member of the Plastic Artists House in Jeddah since 1994.  She is also a permanent member of the Center for Arab Gulf Heritage in Qatar.

She is chair of the Women’s Cultural Committee of the Arts and Culture Association in Jeddah. Ms. Etaiwi held eight individual exhibitions in: Jeddah 1986, Medina 1988, Riyadh 1989, Jeddah 1995, and 1996, London, UK 1998, Riyadh 2001, and Jeddah 2003.

She also took part in several collective exhibitions inside the Kingdom and abroad, including exhibitions organized by the General Presidency of Youth Welfare, the Arts and Culture Association, the Literary Club of Taef 1977, as well as the exhibition by the Bank of Riyadh  in London in 1985 and the collective exhibition organized by King Faisal Society in Jeddah 1988.

She participated in the Second and Third Janadriya Festival in Riyadh 1986-1987, and the Exhibitions by Saudi Women Artists in Washington 1986, and in Germany 1988.  She also took part in “The Kingdom Between Yesterday and Today” expositions in Paris and Cairo 1987, as well as the exhibition for the support of the Palestinian Intifadah in Jeddah 1989.

She participated as well in the exhibition organized on the occasion of President Nelson Mandela’s visit to the Kingdom 1995, the collective exhibition accompanying Prince Sultan’s visit to Spain 1996 and the collective exhibition for the benefit of the people of Kosovo 1999.

Ms. Etaiwi is a writer whose studies, publications and lectures concentrate mainly on Arab heritage and social issues.  Several awards were granted to her for her work in the fields of arts and culture.

Madame Etadal Abdullah Etaiwi est détentrice d’un Baccalauréat en sciences sociales de l’université du Roi Abdulaziz à Jeddah, ainsi qu’une Maîtrise en psychologie de l’université Oum Al-Qora à La Mècque.  Elle prépare présentement son doctorat en psychologie.

Madame Etaiwi est écrivain et membre du club littéraire de Jeddah depuis 1975.  Elle est aussi artiste-peintre, membre de l’Association des Arts et de la Culture, et membre de la Maison des arts plastiques de Jeddah depuis 1994.  Elle est également membre permanent du Centre de l’Héritage du Golfe Arabe au Qatar.

Madame Etaiwi est présidente du Comité Culturel féminin au sein de l’Association des Arts et de la Culture à Jeddah. Elle a monté huit expositions individuelles à :  Jeddah 1986, Médine 1988, Riyadh 1989, Jeddah 1995 et 1996, Londres, Royaume Uni 1998, Riyadh 2001 et Jeddah 2003.

Elle a aussi participé à plusieurs expositions collectives à l’intérieur et à l’extérieur du Royaume de l’Arabie Saoudite, dont les expositions organisées par la Présidence Générale de la Jeunesse, l’Association de la Culture et des Arts, le Club Littéraire de Taef 1977ainsi que l’exposition de la Banque de Riyadh à Londres 1984, et l’exposition collective organisée par la Société du Roi Faisal à Jeddah 1988.

Elle a participé au deuxième et troisième festival de la Janadriya à Riyadh 1986-1987, ainsi qu’à l’exposition des artistes femmes Saoudiennes à Washington 1986 et en Allemagne 1988.  Elle a participé aussi aux expositions du « Royaume entre hier et aujourd’hui » à Paris et au Caire 1987, ainsi qu’à l’exposition pour le soutien de l’Intifadah Palestinienne à Jeddah 1989, l’exposition organisée à l’occasion de la visite du Président Nelson Mandela au Royaume 1995, l’exposition collective accompagnant la visite du Prince Sultan en Espagne 1996, et l’exposition collective au profit du peuple du Kosovo 1999.

Madame Etaiwi est une auteure dont les études, publications et conférences portent surtout sur l’héritage Arabe et les questions sociales. Plusieurs distinctions honorifiques lui ont été attribuées pour ses travaux dans les domaines de l’art et la culture.
