Tasks to be performed by participant:
Reporters at Egypt Today cover items of cultural, sporting or scientific interest; local and national events; entertainment, lifestyle and human interest stories. The magazine is a monthly, which means that writers have the time to properly research the topics and write well-informed features. The participant will be responsible for building contacts to maintain a steady flow of news, reporting on business, political or cultural events in the community, attending press conferences, producing copy to deadlines as well as working with photographers and editors to produce copy to the publication's house style.

 

Level of responsibility within the organization:
Participants will be responsible for writing numerous briefs, reviews and one major feature every month. They will also help with copy editing final copy.

 

Specific skills that will be developed
The participants will build an impressive network of contacts in Egyptian cultural and political arenas. They will learn to write in-depth articles with numerous sources and will work to deadline.

 

Experience required

·       Solid writing skills

·       Ability to work under pressure

·       Arabic an asset
