Young Professionals Internationals 2005-2006

Applications for placements beginning in September 2005 will be accepted between April 1-15, 2005. Selection will be made by May 17, 2005. Look for updates on this website.

The National Council on Canada-Arab Relations (NCCAR) is looking for young Canadians interested in gaining professional experience in the Middle East. The placements are part of Foreign Affairs Canada’s Young Professionals International (YPI) 2005-2006 programme.

YPI gives Canadian youth a first paid career-related international work experience through 6-12 months placements in some 115 countries in all regions of the world. It is part of the Government of Canada's Youth Employment Strategy. 

This is the seventh year NCCAR has been organizing these internships. In September, 2005, ten young professionals of different backgrounds will leave for their placements in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Qatar and Tunisia. NCCAR YPI placements are excellent learning opportunities and great for career development.

YPI Participants…
  • are citizens or permanent residents of Canada with a postsecondary degree or diploma;
  • are up to and including 30 years of age;
  • are unemployed or underemployed;
  • have a genuine interest in permanently entering the labour market and launching an international career (i.e. they are out of school, NOT enrolled in an educational program, and have no current plans to return to school);
  • are available for the duration of the placement (a minimum of six months);
  • have NOT participated in another placement of the Career Focus Program of the Youth Employment Strategy.
  • have NOT had previous career-related paid international work experience;
  • are not receiving Employment Insurance benefits.
     

Application Procedure:
  • Send a one-page cover letter indicating the position title for which you are applying, your citizenship status, age, education and reason for applying
  • Your CV with two reference letters.
  • Two writing samples
    • Journalism placements require 2 published newspaper/magazine articles
    • Non-journalism placements require two 10-page (or less) papers

Jeunes professionnels à l’internationale

Départ janvier 2005 - Fermé

Le Conseil national des relations canado-arabes est à la recherche de jeunes Canadiens désirant travailler au Moyen-Orient. Les stages sont offerts dans le cadre du programme Jeunes professionnels à l’international 2004-2005 des Affaires étrangères Canada et Commerce international Canada.

JPI offre aux Canadiens une première expérience internationale axée sur la carrière. Ce travail rémunéré s’étend sur une période de 6 à 12 mois dans 115 pays et est un élément de la Stratégie emploi jeunesse du gouvernement canadien.

Depuis six ans, le CNRCA organise des stages de six mois au Moyen-Orient. En septembre 2004, huit jeunes professionnels ont quitté le Canada pour l’Égypte, le Maroc, le Liban et la Jordanie. En janvier 2005, six nouveaux stagiaires auront la même chance. Les stages du CNRCA sont enrichissants et offrent aux participants l’occasion de voir le monde tout en développant leur capacité.

 Voici les détails:

Les stages prendront place de janvier à juin 2005. Les participants recevront une rémunération d’environ C$1400 par mois. Le billet d’avion et les assurances seront aussi payés.
 

Les participants à l’initiative JPI…
  • sont des citoyens canadiens ou des résidents permanents du Canada qui ont un diplôme d’études postsecondaires;
  • sont âgés de 30 ans ou moins;
  • sont sans emploi ou sous-employés;
  • désirent réellement entrer sur le marché du travail de façon définitive et entreprendre une carrière à l’international (s’ils ont quitté l’école, ils NE DOIVENT PAS être inscrits à un programme d’études ni avoir l’intention, à ce moment-là, de retourner aux études);
  • sont disponibles pour la durée du placement (au moins six mois);
  • N’ONT PAS bénéficié d’un autre placement dans le cadre du programme Objectif carrière de la Stratégie emploi jeunesse;
  • N’ONT JAMAIS eu d’expérience de travail rémunéré axé sur la carrière à l’étranger;
  • ne reçoivent pas de prestations d’assurance-emploi.
     

Comment faire demande:

  • Envoyer une lettre d’intention et indiquer le poste qui vous intéresse, votre citoyenneté, age, éducation et raisons pour la demande
    • Votre CV, incluant deux références
  • Deux exemples d’écriture (pour les postes en journalisme)
